About the community

A home for Ateneans online.

Zäbyër Community is your niche in Ateneo de Cagayan — a cool place to connect and get to know your fellow Ateneans.

Founded on December 3, 2005, it was created as an exclusive social network for Xavier University students. Its main concept: to create an expansion for students to interact with other students and colleges through the internet.

MetaCatalyst Web Development Team

MetaCatalyst is a group of skilled students from Xavier University specializing in freelance web development. Founded in January 2005, the team came together around a shared love for building for the web.

Each member brought a unique skill and specialty to the table — from PHP programming, 3D modeling, and design to system analysis, photography, and video editing. Together they completed several websites, including the website of Xavier University — Ateneo de Cagayan.

The next chapter · Live now

Zäbyër is gone.
Long live Zabyre.

The servers went quiet. The profiles became folklore. The dream, apparently, did not get the memo.

Once upon a 2005, a handful of Xavier University students built a little corner of the internet called Zäbyër — profiles, pets, colleges, and more PHP than anyone had any business writing. It was legendary. Then the lights went out, the passwords were lost to history, and Zäbyër became the kind of legend told in group chats at 2 a.m.

Fast-forward to now: one of the original developers got a little too nostalgic, opened a code editor, and accidentally rebuilt the dream. Zabyre rises from Zäbyër’s DNA — a brand-new social network with a very old soul, the same Ateneo spirit, a fresh look, and only a slight haunting by the ghost of dial-up. It’s a place for Xavier Ateneans to reconnect, trade stories, and pretend the last two decades were just a long loading screen — and for everyone else to see what all the fuss was about. The niche is back. This time, everyone can join.
